Amelia Jane "AJ" Joehl moved to St. Louis to join Saint Louis Dance Theatre in 2023 after graduating with a BFA in Dance from the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. AJ trained, competed, and performed as a company member at Dance Industry Performing Arts Center in Dallas before her university studies. At USC, she explored movement ideas with William Forsythe, Jermaine Spivey, and Barak Marshall, and performed works by Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, and Kyle Abraham.

Her professional development includes intensives at Orsolina28 and Chuthis Movement Intensive, where she studied works by Marco Geocke and Peter Chu. During her first season with Saint Louis Dance Theatre, AJ performed works by Sidra Bell, Norbert De La Cruz, and Omar Román De Jesús.
