Dave, also known as Dave X, was born and raised in St. Louis and returned home to join Saint Louis Dance Theatre after establishing a diverse career in commercial and concert dance. Dave began their dance journey in St. Louis at age 13, training at Best Dance and Talent Center under Judy Best-Person and studying at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. They graduated from California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in Dance in 2021.

In Los Angeles, Dave collaborated with artists Solange Knowles, Vince Staples, and Ingrid Michaelson, and appeared in campaigns for Calvin Klein and Uniqlo. Their concert dance experience includes guest artist appearances with L.A. Contemporary Dance Company, Ishida Dance Company in Houston, L.E.D in Boise, and TRIBE Multidisciplinary Arts Collective under Shamel Pitts in New York.
